The B&B Team®

The B&B Team® is a full service inn brokerage and consulting firm with principle offices in Virginia and Maine. The B&B Team® / Bushnell and Bushnell Services, Inc. is a licensed affiliate located in Maryland. As bed and breakfast inn consultants and brokers we can help you buy or sell a bed and breakfast inn anywhere in the country. Our consulting for current and aspiring innkeepers is nationwide, and we have served clients from Maine to Florida and from New Jersey to California.

We are Peter and Peggy Scherman, Rick and Janet Wolf, and Scott and Marilyn Bushnell.

Peter has been an exclusive inn broker and consultant since 1993, gaining a reputation for knowledge, forward thinking, and honesty. He has been involved in dozens of inn sales over the years and has guided many current and future innkeepers to successful careers in the Innkeeping industry. An Ethics instructor and past leader in the REALTOR® organization, he places high importance on the values embedded in long term business and personal relationships. As founder of The B&B Team®, Peter leads the company with Rick, and Peggy provides important support services from their office in historic Scottsville, Virginia.

Rick and Janet, as former owners of Captain Fairfield Inn in Kennebunkport, Maine, bring a wealth of innkeeping experience to the team. Rick’s consulting background and his corporate career in marketing and brand development make him a great asset to our clients, and his service on PAII’s Advisory Council allows him to offer insights that benefit the industry. Rick and Peter are regular speakers at Innkeeping conferences nationwide. In addition to knowing the “back of the house,” Janet is a ServSafe™ Food Protection Manager. Their office is in Lower Village, Kennebunk, Maine.

Scott and Marilyn Bushnell, with their own office in Ocean City, Maryland, operate as The B&B Team® / Bushnell and Bushnell Services, Inc. After owning and operating The Lafayette Inn, an 18 guest room Select Registry inn located in Easton, PA., the Bushnell’s sold the inn in 2005 and moved to Ocean City, MD., but could not leave the B & B industry they love. They both serve the PAII membership on the volunteer staff for the annual conventions, specialize in property transfer services for aspiring and current innkeepers, conduct “Inn-Sync: The Bed & Breakfast Decision” seminars to aspiring innkeepers, and offer optimization services for financial performance, marketing, and inn operations, as well as valuations and feasibility studies.
