The 1898 Waverly Inn, on the National Register of Historic Places, has been an operating lodging facility for over a century and now is offered for sale for the first time in over 23 years. Hendersonville and the mountains of western North Carolina have been a popular destination for as long as the inn has been in existence. Over time the bed & breakfast has been enlarged and modified to serve the changing needs of travelers and today has 15 guest rooms, each with private bath, plus ample and comfortable owner’s quarters comprising 2 bedrooms, a luxurious large bathroom, and living area. Office and manager’s quarters are conveniently located in a back wing.
Under current ownership since 1988, the Waverly Inn has been a pioneer in the modern small lodging industry, being early members of Select Registry and active members of PAII and the North Carolina Bed & Breakfast Inns association.
The B&B offers guests a range of comfortable rooms in a casual, informal atmosphere. Breakfast is served daily in the large dining room, where daily (and nightly) snacks await guests at any hour. A wine and cheese social hour with the innkeepers is served daily (on the porch, weather permitting), which is a big attraction for all the inns’ guests.
A big plus is that the Waverly Inn is walking distance to downtown Hendersonville, a quaint town with walk-able sidewalks, landscaped median, and a variety of shops and restaurants.
The inn is offered for sale exclusively by The B&B Team, Inc. for the very competitive price of $1,100,000. For details, contact Peter Scherman.
